Time for social media and tracking activity….

Here I am focusing on some free online marketing tools which are really useful for marketers to use:

Google Alerts – https://www.google.com/alerts – still possibly the best way to set up keyword alerts for any mentions of your brand name, a competitor name or keyword of your choice.

Tweetdeck – https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/ – for posting tweets, scheduling and reviewing activity among your followers and mentions.  More information can be found at https://about.twitter.com/es/products/tweetdeck

Socialbro – http://www.socialbro.com/ – This free tool can be used by Twitter users with a Twitter community under 5,000 users (i.e your followers plus the people who you follow).  This allows you to view your followers by various demographics and by geography and those who aren’t following you but you are following them.

Social Media Policy Database – http://socialmediagovernance.com/policies/ – this is a great resource to use and highlights some of the big brand names and their chosen Social Media Policy, and templates available for you to use.

Buzzsumo – http://buzzsumo.com/ – great for viewing most shared pages upon inserting a keyword, brand name or domain. The free trial is just for 14 days, following which the pro plan is $99 a month and will enable you to have 10 Trending Feeds, Unrestricted Searches, Exportable data, Language & Country filters, Content Analysis Reports and Domain Comparison Reports.

Twitonomy – http://twitonomy.com/ – You will sign in with the Twitter account your browser is currently logged in to. Details of the Premium Package is at https://www.twitonomy.com/go-premium.php and you can join for a one-month $20 for a month which would give you chance to assess if this tool was for you!  I believe the search analytics function to be really useful and available to export to excel or as a PDF, as are many of the functions.

Hootsuitehttps://hootsuite.com/en-gb/plans/pro-upgrade – free version similar to Tweetdeck, allowing a view of a dashboard of activity.  The free trial is available for 30 days for the Premium edition and then from £7.19 a month which will allow you to easily manage up to 100 social networks in one place, save time by scheduling 100s of posts in advance, measure the results of your campaigns and learn how to improve them.
