Content repurposing with the help of AI

When you invest significant resources in creating webinars (time, expertise, promotion, etc.) you typically extract only a fraction of the potential value from this content. Most webinars are viewed once live and perhaps watched as a recording by a limited audience.

This creates several challenges:

Limited ROI on the substantial effort invested in webinar creation
Missed opportunities to reach audiences who prefer different content formats
Manual content creation that requires significant time from subject matter experts

Method for using AI

Take a webinar transcript from an existing on demand recording

Uploaded the transcript as well as your company’s Brand and/or Tone of Voice Guidelines to Microsoft CoPilot (could also use Claude or other AI tools)

Using a set of pre-defined prompts, ask CoPilot to analyse both the TOV guidelines as well as the transcript for content ideas

Based on the analysis, CoPilot made several suggestions of follow up content – explore each idea using the prompts CoPilot provides

Top tips

Make sure everything is saved on OneDrive/Sharepoint before you begin, so that CoPilot can access it, especially if you need to generate transcripts before beginning.

Claude and CoPilot will provide the content for infographics but cannot provide visual aids. This content can then be used to produce in Canva or with help from the creative team

For social post ideas, use the channel in the prompt to ensure the right number of characters are provided

For video short cuts, the AI tools will help identify anywhere (timelines) within the recording where words might be used

ALL content would need to be reviewed internally to ensure brand compliance, subject relevance and copyediting accuracy. Within CoPilot specifically the prompt often involves several attempts to ensure the messaging met the TOV guidelines.
